Deborah Eileen Scarford, 57, of Point Marion, Pa., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, following a brief illness. Born in Winchester, Va., on Aug. 21, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Beverly (Dean) Reed.
A 1982 graduate from the Phillip Barbour High School, she had recently been employed at Teletec in Uniontown, Pa. and also Apple Annie’s in Morgantown.
Surviving are her two children, Danielle Sherman and husband Chris, of Ontario, Canada, and Justin Scarford, of Martinsburg; four grandchildren, Hailie, Alexander, Amber and Damien; a sister, Sheri Staten, of Point Marion, Pa.; one brother, Allen Reed, of Fairmont; her former daughter-in-law, Jennifer Friedlander, of Decatur, Ga.; and her good friend, Tim McCune, of Point Marion, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine A. Scarford, on March 2, 2010.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Pa., Philip S. Rishel, Director, from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating. Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa.
