UPDATE: Elizabeth Randolph was found alive and safe in Ohio on Tuesday, according to a childhood friend.
MORGANTOWN — Police are looking for two Morgantown area residents who each went missing over the weekend.
Elizabeth Randolph, 64, of Suncrest, left the Moundsville area at around 1 p.m. Friday, heading back to Morgantown via Rt 2 South. She has not been seen since. Randolph is blonde, 5’3”, and weighs about 160 pounds. She was driving a 2003 Blue Subaru Legacy with West Virginia plate 42W436.
Her daughter, Haley, said she last heard from her mom on Wednesday. Multiple texts on Thursday went unanswered, as did a call on Friday morning. Haley said she talks with her mom most days.
The family received reports that Randolph had been in Moundsville, though they didn’t know why.
Randolph’s childhood friend, Marsha Wyatt, said she can’t think of a reason why she would be there or anywhere other than Morgantown.
“It is unusual for her to go anywhere without her daughter knowing that she’s taking a road trip,” Wyatt said.
Randolph does have serious medical issues which require medications. On Monday, a friend of Randolph’s spent hours on FaceTime with Haley looking through her apartment. Haley said it seems her medicine is with her as they were unable to find any medications – of which there are quite a few – in the apartment.
All of Randolph’s phones that Haley knows of were also in the apartment, she said.
“I miss her dearly and I don’t know, I just hope that she comes back safe,” Hayley said. “And I guess if we find her that I’m so happy and I’m so grateful especially for all the family friends and you know my friends and and friends of hers that I’ve never even met who have just sort of like poured their support and and their time into trying to find her.”
Anyone with information should contact Moundsville Police, who are in charge of the investigation, at 304-845-1611. You may also call Morgantown Police at 304-284-7522.
The Moundsville Police Department confirmed Randolph is in the missing persons database.
A second Monongalia County resident was also reported missing this past weekend.
On Sunday, Bryn Hargraves, 36, originally from England but who lives in the Cheat Lake area, was reported missing to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, Hargraves was last seen about two weeks ago. He is described as a white man with brown hair, 6’2”, 220 pounds and has a tattoo of a family crest on his right arm.
