Charles Price, 86, of Daybrook Community, Fairview, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, in the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
He was born Oct. 2, 1935, at Wadestown, a son of the late Clarence Price and Indiana Cross Price.
Mr. Price was a retired coal miner who retired from the Blacksville #2 mine which was operated by Consol. He was a member of the UMWA Local 1702.
Surviving are his children, Virginia “Ginny” Swaney, of Smithfield, Pa., Bruce and his wife Vicki Mort, of Daybrook, Richard Price and his fiancé Pam Chesney, of Daybrook, and Amelia “Millie” and her husband Jack Williams, of Jakes Run; one sister, Brenda Towns and her husband John, of Cassville; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Price, who died on April 24, 2017; four brothers, James Price, Jesse Price, Ronnie Price and Wesley Price; three sisters, Imogene Chisler; and two sisters who died as infants, Betty and Darlene.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
