Mark Frederick Riffon, 67, of Morgantown, died on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born Nov. 16, 1954, in Morgantown and was one of 10 children to Stephen and Sarah Riffon.
Mark was the owner-operator of Riffon Contracting & Remodeling, LLC., here in Morgantown until illness would require an early retirement. He had many hobbies and interests, including all WVU Mountaineer sports but nothing could compare to time with his grandchildren, Ellie and Preston.
Mark is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra Meligan Riffon; daughter, Jacquelyn (Matthew) Rosensteel; two beloved grandchildren, Ellie and Preston Rosensteel; son, Mark Riffon II (Andrew Lundgren); half brother, Gary Shaw; sisters, Suzanne Kenney, Monica (Warren) Belcher; Cathleen (Patrick) Meighen, Maria (Jim) Tonnessen; sister-in-law, Glenna Riffon; and brothers, Stephen (Beverly) Riffon II, Matthew Riffon, Gregory Riffon and Thomas (Tracy) Riffon.
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Sarah, and one brother, Michael Riffon.
The family will receive friends at the Pierpont Church of the Nazarene, 52 Harner Run Road, Morgantown, from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday with Pastor Casey Shorr officiating. Cremation will follow.
