With great sorrow we announce the death of Rose M. Armeni, 94, who passed away on Dec. 28, 2021. She was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio to Vincenzo and Rosary (Carbon) Romeo.
She was a 1945 graduate of Rayen High School. She married Anthony Armeni on July 22, 1950. In addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, she was a secretary at Republic Rubber and later worked as a nursery school teacher at St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman, Ohio. Together with her husband, she was a devoted member of the St. James Episcopal Church. Rose had a love for numerous hobbies, including cooking, baking, creating ornate cookies and pastries, as well as other arts and crafts activities. Her artistic talents were passed on to all of her children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, John, Patsy and Vincent, and sisters, Marie Lebo, Rita Novello, Grace O’Connor and Karen Romeo.
She is survived by two sisters, Marie Davidson, of Niles, Ohio, and Jean Romeo of Liberty, Ohio. She leaves behind her three children, Anthony “Tony,” of Youngstown, Ohio, Robyn Isaac, of Arizona, and Dr. Mark Armeni (Rebecca), of Morgantown. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rose spent most of her lifetime as a resident of Youngstown, Ohio, though spent a brief time near her daughter in southern Florida and Texas, then spent more than twelve years living close to her son and daughter-in-law in Morgantown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Greater Love Family Outreach Ministries, 275 Canyon Road, Morgantown, WV, 26508. To honor Rose’s wishes, a small, family funeral service will be held to celebrate her life.
