Robert Keith Vukovich, 64, of Brownton, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, in Morgantown.
The son of the late Roddy and Daisy Marra Vukovich, he was born on Jan. 31, 1957, in Clarksburg.
After graduating in 1975 from Philip Barbour High School, Robert furthered his education at West Virginia University. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and in industrial engineering and then an MBA. Since 1994, Robert worked with the U.S. Postal Service. Robert was very analytical and had an uncanny knack for remembering details.
His love for marching bands began in high school when he played the snare drums. From that time and throughout his life, he loved attending parades and band fests.
Robert spent 20 years of his life as the primary caregiver for his father. During that time, especially the last years of his father’s life, he completely devoted himself to his father’s care.
Robert is survived by two sisters: Carol Vukovich Spear and her husband, Carl, of Bruceton Mills, and Sheila Marie Vukovich, of Morgantown; two nieces: Kira Marie Moore and Sarah Bethany Moore and her fiancé, Daniel Gordon, all of Morgantown; one aunt, Lucy Grady, of Washington, D.C.; one uncle, Sammie Marra, of Bridgeport; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be at All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport, from 4 p.m. until the 6:30-7 p.m. vigil service on Friday, Jan. 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, with the Rev. Walter Jagela as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Because of the high incidence of COVID, those attending the visitation and mass at the church are required to wear masks.
