Randy Lee Swisher, of Morgantown, passed peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. He was 62 years old. Randy was born in Grafton, one of four sons to Dorsey and Madelyn Adkins Swisher on June 17, 1959.
He was a graduate of Grafton High School and retired from WVU Facilities Management after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and especially looked forward to trout season. Randy was a simple man who lived a simple life.
He leaves behind his children: three daughters, Randee Williams (Gary), of Tunnelton, Deirdra Swisher, of Grafton, and Barbara Coates (Teller), of Morgantown; two sons, Nicholas “Nick” Swisher (Renee) and Adam McDonald, all of Morgantown; grandchildren, Dani (Cody) Gray, Jada (Brenden) Lawson, Nicholas Swisher II, Maddison Williams and Camden Swisher; and one great-grandchild, Cooper Gray and one on the way. Also surviving are two brothers, Dale (Sandy) Swisher and Don Swisher, all of Grafton; and his two cats, Bubby Kitty and Sissy.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Swisher and one brother, Dorsey H. Swisher.
Keeping things simple as Randy would have wanted, cremation was arranged by the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home.
A memorial gathering will held at the Brookhaven Community Center beside the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9.
