Robert Ridenour

Robert “Bob” Jackson Ridenour, 81, of Birdscreek Road, Tunnelton, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at his residence with family by his side. He was born on Nov. 17, 1940, at Frog Hollow Road, Laurel Mountain, son of the late Archie Leonard and Edna Mae “Loar” Ridenour.

Bob graduated from Rowlesburg High School, Class of 1959, and retired as a coal miner. He was a member of the Christian Evangelical Church. Bob loved hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and playing with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by three children, Jocelyn K. Ridenour, of Howesville, Brian K. Ridenour and Paula, of Newburg, and Regina L Travinski and Greg, of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Sasha and Josh Plotner, Jessica and Shawn Howard, Harley Ridenour and James, Samantha Ridenour and Justin Travinski and Catherine; two great-grandsons, Landon Plotner and Cameron Plotner; one great-granddaughter, Lillyana Howard; one brother, Clinton Ridenour and Dolly, of Kingwood; one sister, Lucille Funk, of Reedsville; two brothers-in-law, Ordane Ridenour, of Tunnelton, and Herb Stevens, of Tunnelton; a special niece who was like a daughter, Deborah Cox and James, of Monongahela, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Belle Ridenour in 2014; one grandson, Jacob Ridenour in 2020; one great-grandson, Jackson Edward Howard; two sisters, Clara Stevens and Phyllis Bolyard; two brothers-in-law, Paul Bolyard and Kenneth Funk; and one sister-in-law, Ethel L. Boylan Ridenour.

Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24, with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Israel Cemetery.
