Wilma Jean Gibson, 83, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born in Pennsylvania on May 5, 1938, a daughter of the late Edward M. and Frances W. (Hawkins) Gibson.
Wilma retired after working in the Accounts Payable Department of West Virginia University. She was a dedicated member of Eden United Methodist Church in Stewartstown, serving as the church pianist for many years. She also proudly served as church treasurer. When she was able to travel, she loved taking bus tours or taking trips with relatives.
Wilma never had children of her own, but she loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She is survived by her brother, Fred Gibson and his wife, Janet, of Point Marion Road; her sister, Ruth A. Lynch and her husband John, of Chambersburg, Pa. along with several cousins, nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much, took great pride in their accomplishments and laughed at their antics.
In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Clyde and Ralph, and one sister, Lillian.
Private services were held followed by internment at Eden Cemetery.
