Norita Queen

Norita “Sis” Queen, 82, of Morgantown, was called home on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. Norita was born on March 19, 1939 in Taylor County, a daughter of the late Homer Mayle and Bertha Croston.

Norita was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her most cherished moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Norita was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Glendenning; her second husband, Forman Henry Clay Queen; brother, Willard Whitehair; sisters, Betty Stolis, and Brenda Mayle; and a very loving son-in-law, Daryl Price.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gladys Price and Sandra Clinton and husband Ray; sisters, Juanita Mayle, of Canton, Ohio, Nora Mayle and husband Stan, of Grafton, and Linda Kennedy, of Philippi; and brothers, Junior Croston and wife Bessie, of Philippi, Bobby Croston and wife Toni, Freddie Croston and wife Shirley, Tommie Croston and wife Trish, all of Canton, Ohio, Charles Croston, of Philippi, and Paul Croston and wife Shirley, of Grafton.

Norita is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Christopher Mayle and wife Katie, Michael Price and wife Holly, all of Morgantown, Tim Clinton and wife Britny, Jessica Clinton, Jennifer Ethier and husband Kerry, Charity Singer and husband Will and Grant Clinton, all of Pennsylvania; and great-grandson, Joshua Mayle, who was Norita’s pride and joy. They were best friends, and most considered them two peas in a pod. She is also survived by great-grandsons, Elijah, Nate and Caleb Clinton, who she also cherished. Norita truly valued her time with them, especially when she spent a year in Pennsylvania with her daughter, Sandy, and family. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she adored.

The family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, and again from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Dolly Sparks officiating. Norita will be laid to rest at Simpson Cemetery in Taylor County.
