Donald Lee Brewer, 89 of Gladesville, passed away on Dec. 1, 2021. He was born on Oct. 2, 1932 in Gladesville, son of the late Chester E. and Zilpha Ervin Brewer.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Gladesville. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, mowing and woodworking. Donald graduated from Newburg High School with the Class of 1951. He served in the United States Army in Korea 2nd Division. He retired from Albright National Bank, now Wesbanco, with 40 years of service. Donald served as a Worthy Patron of Newburg Chapter #143 order of the Eastern Star for 51 years. He served as Worthy Grand Patron for the Grand Chapter of West Virginia 2004-2005. A member of the Aurora Lodge #43 for 50 years. A member of the Newburg Rotary Club for sixty-three years.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eleanor M. Brewer; one son, Roger Lee Brewer and wife Loretta, of Gladesville; one daughter, Sandra Sue Wolfe and husband Kevin, of Gladesville; five grandchildren, Kelley Wolfe Barto, of Gladesville, who spent much time with her grandparents, Patrick Wolfe and Tabitha, of Gladesville, Summer Fearer and Harold, of Hazelton, Chloe Warren, of Morgantown, and Alton Brewer and Billie Jo, of Chester; 11 great-grandchildren, Felicia Barto, Gabrielle Ganks, Reno Ross, Alexis Riley and Gracie Mae Barto, Gage Barto, Blayne Fearer, Ethan Fearer, Alexander Warren, Colton Wolfe and Asa Lee Brewer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Aubree Warren; two sisters, Eleanor G. and Jim Hundley and Evelyn Kay Brewer; two brothers, Cecil and Leora Brewer and Byron Ervin Sr.; and one brother-in-law, James and Ellen Simeral.
Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, from noon-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 5:30 p.m. by the Newburg Chapter 143 Order of the Eastern Star and from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5, with Pastor David Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites conducted by the Aurora Lodge #43 AF&AM.
