Stanley Anthony Benkovic Jr., 58, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at his residence after a short illness. He was born Dec. 21, 1962.
Stanley Benkovic has touched so many lives. He brought out the good in people and helped them see their own strengths. He had a great sense of humor and was there for others. It’s unbelievable how much he was able to accomplish — earning an electrical apprentice license, a Ph.D. in pharmacology, a master’s degree in anatomy, a bachelor’s in biochemistry, an associate’s degree in chemistry and mathematics, attending technical school in high school, becoming a synthesist in Black Hole Zion, a keyboardist/synthesizer for Stannous Fluoride (solo project) and being a former member in Deacon Screech, Descension Rate and VIA. He also loved to garden and landscape. He is gone far too soon and missed terribly by us, our cats and dogs and an abundance of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Anthony Benkovic Sr., and his siblings, Sharon Feaser, Micheal Feaser and Matthew Benkovic.
Surviving family members include his mother, Carol Benkovic; daughter, Nicole Brixey (spouse Stephen Brixey); and three grandchildren, London Brixey, Lily-Rose Brixey and Luna Brixey. His living siblings include Mark Benkovic (spouse Barbara Benkovic), Lori Hetrick and Diana Daugherty.
He wished to not have any services, but instead asked that you donate to a cause that he supported, such as your local animal rescue.
Smith Funeral & Cremation Care of Westover/Morgantown, is providing care and guidance to the family.
