James Ralph Everly Sr., 82 of Kingwood passed away Nov. 28, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1939, in Rodamer. The son of the late Nellie Pearl (Everly) Simpson and Frank Simpson.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of District 31 of the UMWA in Fairmont. He retired from Island Creek Coal Company with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing the penny slots at the casinos. His family was the highlight of his life. He was always there for us anyway he could and never expected anything in return. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dora Lea (Moats) Everly; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Richard Dumire, of Kingwood; three sons and spouses, James Ralph Everly Jr. and wife Katherine, of Rowlesburg, Franklin “Tiger” Everly, of Tunnelton, and Steven Everly Sr., of Morgantown; several grandchildren, Jennifer Dumire, of Morgantown, Scott Dumire, of Albright, Todd and Elesa Everly, of Rowlesburg, Zach Everly, of Rowlesburg, Stacey Everly, of Morgantown, April and Stephen Grimm, of Tunnelton, Kacey Everly, of Pennsylvania, Steven Everly Jr., of Morgantown, and Jordon Everly, of Morgantown; and one great-grandson, Jameson Finn Everly, who was born on Nov. 27, 2021.
A private graveside service will be held at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
