Carl Clayton Hoffman, 73, of Tunnelton, died on Nov. 15, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Carl was born Jan. 9, 1948, in Kingwood, a son of the late Orwig Clayton and Hazel Faye (Messenger) Hoffman.
Carl was a 1965 graduate of Kingwood High School, where he met his high school sweetheart LaDonna Dale (Titchenell) Hoffman. They married on Aug. 18, 1967. Carl was a Veteran Expert Marksman in the Army National Guard. He retired in 2003 after working as a manager for Allegheny Energy after 36 years of service. Carl enjoyed being a farm boy, working, welding, hunting hanging around the campfire at Big Bear and especially being with his grandkids.
He is survived by three children and spouses, Bryan Carl and Kimberly Hoffman, Brett Carl and Elizabeth Hoffman, all of Tunnelton, and Alexis Hoffman; one brother and spouse, Rick and Elaine Hoffman, of Hummelstown, Pa.; two sisters and spouse, Pat and Bob Leonard, of Pittsburgh, and Kimberly Hardesty, of Follansbee; seven grandchildren and spouses: Cory and Megan Hoffman, Tyler Hoffman and fiancé Ashlee Galloway, Bryanna Hoffman, Amber and Todd Keener, Nick and Marissa Hoffman, Marlee Hoffman and London Doty; and special friend, Irene Mersing, of Oakland, Md.;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, LaDonna Dale (Titchenell) Hoffman; his son, Kevin Hoffman; two sisters and spouse, Mary Lee and Jim Wilson and Kathy Gallagher; and one brother, David Hoffman.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, and in the funeral home chapel, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, with Pastor Bruce Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
