Charles Weaver

Charles Larry Weaver, 70, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., formerly of Blacksville, entered into eternal life Oct. 26, 2021, at the Medical University of South Carolina following a brief illness.

He was born in Grafton, June 7, 1951, to the late Charles L. Weaver and the late Corrine E. (Gull) Weaver. A retired coalminer having worked at Consol Energy’s Blacksville #2 mine for over 30 years, he was a certified underground electrician/mechanic, retiring in October 2007. He was a member of UMWA Local #1702.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melinda “Mindy” Zook Weaver; and brothers, Terring “Terry” M. Weaver and his wife Terry, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Patrick “Pat” Weaver, of Gibson, N.C. As well as a large extended family.

He attended University High School in Morgantown, graduating in 1969. He continued his education at Fairmont State University in Fairmont. Charlie was an avid sudoku and crossword puzzler … the more difficult the better. He loved the outdoors, enjoying golf, fishing, hunting, gardening and riding his bike.

He was a member of the Providence Presbyterian Church, located on Hilton Head Island.

He was a friend to many, helping family, friends and neighbors whenever he could.
