Joyce Lynn “Andrews” Cole, 65, of Newburg, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic. She was born on Nov. 6, 1955 in Grafton, daughter of the late Edward Clinton “Clint” and Edith B. “Braham” Andrews. Joyce graduated from Newburg High School Class of 1974.
She started working at Hopemont Hospital out of high school and retired from the FBI in 2017 as an NICS examiner for over 20 years of service. She loved collecting lighthouses and angels.
Joyce is survived by one stepdaughter, Linda Wilson and Ted, of Weirton; one stepson, Dennis “Al” Cole and Kimberly, of Columbus, Ohio; several great-step-grandchildren and great-great-step-grandchildren; one brother, Clinton W. Andrews and wife Donna, of Grafton; two sisters, Debora S. Murray, of Fellowsville, and Wanda L. Scheuch and husband Mark, of Independence; one niece and three nephews, Joshua E. Murray and wife Kerri, of Nampa, Idaho, John W. Murray and wife Tonya, of Morgantown, Markie Scheuch, of Grafton, and Jessica Grieder and Brian, of Fellowsville; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. “Gene” “Jeep” Cole, in 2008; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Murray.
Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home, from noon-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, and from 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Edward Carpenter II officiating. Interment will follow at Fletcher Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, the family requests that all who plan to attend wear protective face coverings or CDC- approved masks.
