Conzolla Frances “Nanny” Dobbs, 86, of Morgantown, was called home on Sunday Oct. 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Nov. 4, 1934, daughter to the late Samuel and Zella McDonald, of Morgantown.
Frances was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who cherished each moment with her family. She was Christian by faith and a devoted church mother to her beloved Mount Hermon Baptist Church. Her spirit was infectious and touched by all who knew her. Her kindness was shown through her love and acceptance of all who walked through her door.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Cocky” Dobbs; brothers, William and James McDonald; son, Allen Dobbs, Jr; and daughter, Kimberly Dobbs.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, the Rev. Claudette Dale and Carolyn Burns; brother, John Lee McDonald; daughters, Marquita Dobbs, Tonja Lake, Crystal (Warren) Hughes, Jennifer Tucker, Carolyn Preston and Brenda Holland; grandchildren, Damia Dobbs, Jason Dobbs, Terry Lake Jr., Challen Dobbs, Chakyra Dobbs, Willa Hughes, Kaila Tucker, Brandon Tucker and Tarren Tucker; great-grandchildren Jackson, Jaiden, Brenton, Janiyah, Jiovanna and Kielandra Dobbs, Mateo Lake and Amaree Dobbs-Hicks; and a host of many other adopted children and grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday Oct. 29, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 30. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
