Adrianna Chico Evans, 29, of Morgantown, went to be in her Heavenly Home on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.
She was born Oct. 26, 1991, to Robert and Linda Skubis Chico, of Morgantown.
Survivors include her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Zachary Evans; her beautiful newborn baby boy, Luke Robert Evans; and their faithful dog, Manning. She is also survived by her adoring parents, Robert and Linda Chico; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends in the Morgantown and Fairmont communities and beyond.
Adrianna was born and raised in Morgantown and from an early age knew that she was meant to pour into the lives of young children. After earning her master’s from West Virginia University in elementary education, she immediately began teaching at St. Francis Catholic School as a beloved third grade teacher. Her family and friends would describe her as one of the most passionate, selfless, loving and humble people they’ve ever met. She had a “bright light” that echoed through the halls of that school and deep into the community of Morgantown. She gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect her newborn baby boy, whom she already loved with all her heart. She will be missed tremendously but her legacy will live on forever.
Friends may join the the Evans and Chico families to honor Adrianna’s beautiful life and legacy at Chestnut Ridge Church, 2223 Cheat Road, Morgantown, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 officiated by Pastor Josh Rhodes. Following the funeral service, Adrianna will be laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
While wearing face masks are not required in the church, everyone in attendance is strongly encouraged to do so.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Robert Chico for the future establishment of the Adrianna Chico Evans “ACE” Foundation. This foundation will reward academic excellence by teachers in the classroom.
