Jerry Wayne Everly, 73, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Morgantown, on April 10, 1948, a son of the late Dwight Charles Everly Sr. and the late Bess Beatty Everly.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Wilson Everly; his son, Matthew Everly; brothers, Dwight “Chuck” Everly Jr. and wife Thomasene and Jay Everly and wife Debbie; sister, Carol Sue Horton; brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Wilson and wife Zella, Kip Wilson and wife Jewell and Terry Fordyce; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Everly; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Everly; sister-in-law, Nan Fordyce; and brother-in-law, Richard Horton.
A 1966 graduate of University High School, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He retired from the West Virginia University Physical Plant after more than 25 years of service. He was a loving husband and father.
At Jerry’s request, he has been cremated. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
