Joan C. Stevens Blue, 76, of Morgantown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 13, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born Nov. 9, 1943, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Stevens.
Joan was a graduate of Morgantown High School and worked for J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and later retired from Morgantown Internal Medicine Group Inc. She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul AME Church where she was actively involved and served anytime she was called upon. Reading was a passion of hers, and you rarely saw her without a book.
Joan was a beloved aunt, great sister and friend to so many. She was a loving guide and role model to everyone and kept the lines of communication open among family and friends. Her love and presence will be missed by everyone who knew Joan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Stevens; and her sister, Ella Jean Davis.
She leaves behind her husband, Charles C. Blue Jr.; brother, Kenneth “Butch” Stevens (Anna Lee); sister, Joyce Ann Johnson (Edgar); and a host of nieces, nephews and many family friends.
A celebration of the life of Joan C. Stevens Blue will be at the Hampton Inn, University Town Center, 325 Granville Square, Morgantown, WV 26501, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
Those planning on joining in on this celebration of life must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccinations to attend.
