Edith “Ginger” Satterfield, 81, of Morgantown, entered her eternal home Oct. 17, 2021.
Ginger was born April 6, 1940, in Grafton.
She married Edward L. Satterfield Nov. 25, 1961, in Winchester, Va., and together they had one son, Russell, whose wife, Stacy, died in October 2005.
Ginger graduated from Morgantown High School in 1958 and worked as a secretary in various places, including a bank in North Carolina, the West Virginia State Police and First Baptist Church. She was a lifelong member of Suncrest United Methodist Church, formerly Drummond Church.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Edward, of 59 years; son, Russell; mother, Mabel; and brothers, Jeff, of Morgantown, Bob, of Canada, and Joe, of Washington; and brother-in-law, David Satterfield and wife Trudy.
One of her favorite pastimes was their weekly NASCAR contests with Ed and Russ. One of her special talents was knitting slippers for the feet of those that touched her life. She loved people and showed much kindness to neighbors and friends.
Special thanks to all the hospice workers and the staff of Pleasant Acres Christian Haven, who provided very good care for her.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with a private graveside service held for the family.
