Rochelle L. “Kitty” Shipley, 89, was called home by her heavenly Father Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, and her purpose was fulfilled.
Kitty was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Jess and Mary (O’Neal) Horner.
She married Roy E. Cole, lived in Newburg and together they had two children, Linda and Al.
Later in life, Kitty became Mrs. Bob Stutler, moving to Weirton, and then on to Columbus, Ohio, where they became very devoted followers of Jesus Christ. They then moved to Newark, Ohio, where Kitty started teaching classes in church. She also joined the choir and the Faithful Christians. Kitty loved her family and helping to point them to Jesus.
Kitty was widowed and later married Floyd E. Shipley moving to Zanesville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Kitty was preceded in death by her three husbands; granddaughter, Deara; and grandson, Brandon.
Kitty leaves behind her two children, Linda (Edgar “Ted”) Wilson, of Weirton, and Dennis “Al” (Kim) Cole, of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Theresa (Randy) Small and Dianna Gutrdge, both of Frazeysburg, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Word of Life Fellowship on Lovers Lane in Steubenville, Ohio, from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Gary Hallberg will officiate and a private burial will take place in the Mon Valley Cemetery in Donora, Pa.
Arrangements for Kitty are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, Kitty’s family is requesting that you visit a Bible preaching church and give to their offering.
