Donald Braham

Donald Dee Braham Sr., 79, of Independence, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born July 18, 1942, in Preston County, son of the late Charles Thomas and Ethel Evelyn Triplett Braham.

Dee owned and operated C&T Lumber Company. He loved logging and being outdoors in general. Dee was an avid Mountaineer and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by two sons, Donald Dee Braham Jr. and Rosie, of Independence, and Jason Dee Braham, of Independence; four daughters, Donna Jo Leary and Alvin, of Morgantown, Debi L. White and Randy, of Core, Sandy Braham, of Independence, and Mindy Sue Wright, of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Amanda Dezzutti and Tony, Amber Dewitt and Evan, Ashley Ponceroff and Austin, Derek Braham and Alisha, Francesca Haught and Jake, Donnie D. Braham III and Tashia and Jason D. Braham Jr.; 16 great-grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul D. Braham and Mary, of Independence, and Robert C. Braham and Boots, of Morgantown; two sisters, Betty A. Friend, of Medina, Ohio, and Janet R. Smith and Joe, of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dee is preceded in death by one brother, William “Bill” F. Braham; and one brother-in-law, Marvin Friend.

Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home, from 2-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, with Pastor Jim Carder officiating. Interment will follow at Gladesville Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. James Mersing, Dr. Tyler Groves and Dr. Lauren Howdershelt for taking such good care of Dad at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
