Patty Lee Thaler, 84, of Bruceton Mills, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, after a brief battle with COVID.
The daughter of the late Alvin Charles Mitchell and Blanche Dessie Goodwin Mitchell, she was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Jere.
Patty graduated from University High School on May 26, 1955, and married her sweetheart, Frank the next day in Oakland, Md.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Sr., of 66 years; her sons, Frank Thaler Jr. and wife Diana, of Owosso, Mich., and James A. Thaler, and wife Kimberley, of Bruceton Mills; and a daughter-in-law, Darcey Thaler, of Centennial, Colo.; nine grandchildren: Tyler (Kristiana) Thaler, of Cary, N.C., Tanner (Tara) Thaler, of Belle River, Ontario, Canada, Demi (Tim) Russell of Bridgeport, Christian Thaler (Katlyn Kuhn), of Mannington, Georgia Thaler, John Cooper Thaler and Callie Thaler, of Bruceton Mills, Timothy Thaler and Jenna Thaler, of Centennial, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Devin Thaler, of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Betty Mitchell Rohr, of Hilliard, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Nancy DiCosmo, of Royal Oak, Mich.
Patty was preceded in death by her beloved son, John A. Thaler, September 2003, and a sister, Norma G. Mitchell, December 1959.
Honoring her wishes, a private gathering of family will be held Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, followed by a private graveside ceremony at Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID virus, those in attendance are requested to wear masks and to practice social distancing.
The Carl R. Spear Funeral Home of Brandonville-Bruceton Mills will be providing funeral arrangements for the family.
