Martha “Kathy” Murray, 61, of Sandbank Road, Morgantown, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at the Mon Health Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1960, in Masontown, the daughter of the late Jake and Peg Cress.
Kathy was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Mountain View Pentecostal Church. She was a housewife, homemaker, loving mother and the glue to her whole family. She was her grandchildren’s loving mammy.
Kathy enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, crafting, baking, thrift store shopping and showering her friends and family with handmade gifts and goodies made with love.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wilbert Murray, the love of her life.
She was also survived by two sons and their fiancées, Daniel “Dan” Murray and Heather Clark, Jason “Jay” Murray and Jamie Clendenin; her one and only daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Murray, all of Morgantown; eight grandchildren: Kaitlyn “Katy Bug” Murray, Marissa “Blondie” Kessler, Natalie “Red” Kessler, Isaac “Booba” Murray, Jordan, Jayden and Justin Blosser and her pride and joy, Danielle Elizabeth Murray, all of Morgantown.
Also, surviving are three brothers, Lee, Bill and Zeke, and four sisters, Jean, Dorsey, Honda and Stacey, all of Masontown.
The family would like to thank Eva Blosser for being a special close friend to Kathy.
The family will receive friends at the Nicholson Chapel Church, from 6 p.m. on Sunday, until funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
