Patricia “May” McGinnis Stone Lipscomb, 90, of Newburg, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. She was born in Newburg on March 16, 1931, daughter of the late Guy McGinnis and Nola Agnes Pratt McGinnis. May loved gardening, quilting, crocheting and going to church. She was a member of the Christian Evangelical Church.
May is survived by her second husband, Ervin Joshua Lipscomb, of Newburg; two daughters, Eudora Marie Smith, of Newburg, and Sarah “Sally” Ann Lipscomb and Larry, of Tunnelton; one son-in-law, Larry Sigley, of Newburg; one daughter-in-law, Joretta Stone, of Kingwood; 12 grandchildren: Tina Collins and Ronald, of Kingwood, Amy Stalnaker, of Newburg, Andrew Smith, of Morgantown, Patricia Moreland and Stephen, of Kingwood, William Stone and Tonya, of Reedsville, Scott Stone and Heather, of Kingwood, Stacy Phillips, of Kingwood, Yvonne Miller and Bryan, of Reedsville, Carla McGinnis and Mark, of Grafton, Raymond Sigley and Sarah, of Bruceton, Amos Sigley and Shirley, of Newburg, and Jennifer Wolfe and Rick, of Morgantown; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert McGinnis, of Venetia, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, May was preceded in death by her first husband, William Raymond Stone, in 1971; one son, Howard William Stone; one daughter, Charlotte Christine Sigley; two sisters; and six brothers.
Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, from 3-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, with Pastor Robert Anderson and Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Due to COVID-19, the family requests that all who plan to attend wear protective face coverings or CDC- approved masks. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Kingwood.
