Eula “Bernice” Hall, 96, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Blockton, daughter of the late Claude and Jewell (Kendrick) Clark.
Throughout her life, Bernice resided Boulder, Colo., Huntington, Wheeling, St. Clairsville, Ohio, Englewood, Fla. and, the latter part of her life, she resided in The Village at Heritage Point in Morgantown. She was known as a beloved mother, neighbor, teacher and friend, at times simultaneously.
Bernice received her M.S. in family resources at WVU and B.S. in home economics at Berea College. Her working career, listing most recent to earliest, include retiring from the extension service as a home economics agent in Belmont County, Ohio, Cabell County Extension Service and a home economics teacher in public schools in West Virginia and Colorado.
Throughout her career, she received many awards, appointments and memberships, including a National Service Award for her work in the Belmont County Extension Service, her service on the Ohio State 4-H Foundation Board and also as a member of PEO.
Bernice also was an active member of Wheeling Christian Church and Englewood Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Stephen K. Hall and wife, Martha Hall; daughter, Jennifer Hall Boggess and husband, Lynn H. Boggess; grandson, Evan Boggess and wife, Kayla; and great-grandchildren, Isabel and Henry Boggess.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer W. Hall, of
73 years, and brother, Everett Clark, who passed away during childhood.
Hastings Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements and a graveside committal service will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery, beginning at noon, Thursday, Sept. 16, with Pastor Mike Estep officiating.
