Robert Dale Wilburn, 81, of Morgantown, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, unexpectedly at his home. He was born in Albright, on Feb. 17, 1940, son to Reed and Mary Elizabeth Wilburn.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. For more than 40 years, Robert worked for West Virginia University in the Physical Plant in various jobs and positions. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was reserved and quiet, kept to himself and went about his business with little fuss.
He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Pat Gidley, Shirley Trompack (John) and Janet Keenan; brothers, Darwin Wilburn and William Wilburn (Ginger Barrett); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, James Wilburn, and one sister, Bonnie Burrakis.
The family held private services on Thursday.
Robert was laid to rest at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Gidley officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home.
