Benjamin Russell Williams, 71, of the Halleck Community, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Sept. 4, 1950, in Morgantown, a son of the late Benjamin Ralph Williams and Dorothy “Dottie” Dalton Williams.
He graduated from Morgantown High School and was the former owner and operator of Mountain Timber and Excavating and Williams Trucking. His favorite pastimes were hanging out with friends, socializing and working on just about anything in his garage, as well as riding his Rhino in the “Holler.” Above all, he loved his family. His grandkids were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed.
Benjamin is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Stevens Williams; his son, Ben Williams (Kimberly); grandchildren, Bryleigh Rae Williams and Kole Dalton Williams; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Williams; and two brothers, Bob Williams and Billy Joe Dalton.
Visitation will be at Dering-Henson Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9. Funeral services will be in the funeral home, at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 10, with Pastor Dan Meadow officiating. Burial will follow in the Summers Memorial Cemetery.
