Lena V. Angotti, 93, of Newark, Del., passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.
Born in Harding (Randolph County) on July 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (Masterjoseph) DeProspero.
Lena worked as a personal assistant at the Haveg Division of Ametek Inc. for 10 years, until her retirement in 1988.
Deep in her faith, Lena was a devout member of Holy Family R.C. Church and was active in its Leisure group. She also served as a past-president of Holy Angels Altar Society in Newark and was an inaugural member of the St. Mark’s High School Band Boosters in Wilmington. Lena dedicated her time as a board member and family support facilitator for the Alliance of the Mentally Ill in Delaware.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Angotti Jr.; son, Kim Joseph Angotti; and siblings, John DeProspero, Hazel Gasper, Gloria Barkaszi, Carmella LaGatta, Ike DeProspero, Eulanda Smith and Francis LaGatta.
She is survived by her children, Melanie V. Angotti, of New Castle and Jolene A. Outten (John), of Townsend; grandchildren, Aaron Outten and Zachary Outten, both of Townsend; and sister, Cecilia Palmer, of Morgantown.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, Del., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Del.
