Donald R. Headley was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Aug. 21, 2021, after a long battle with heart problems. He was the son of the late Lester and Mary (Parker) Headley, born on April 5, 1935, on Jake’s Run in Fairview.
Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glendora (Taylor) Headley; his siblings, Naomi Perry, of Westover, Jim (Ann), of Morgantown, Richard, of Cleveland, Ohio, Ollie May Gorman, of Fairmont and Jennie (Robert) Janes, of Fairmont; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two brothers-in-law, Henry Gorman and Jack Perry.
Don was a member of Pumpkin Center Church of Christ, a 55-year member of Mannington AF & AM #31, past supervisor of Marion County Conservation District, Marion County Farm Bureau, Wes Mon-Ty Cattlemen Association, 45-year member of Boilmaker #667, Clarksburg Court #3 Order of Amaranth and Monongalia #10 IOOF. He received the Carol Green Award, Mary Sturm Award and District Farm Award.
He was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School in 1954. He was active in FFA, received the Star Farmer Award. His farm was his pride. He was always working to make it better. He was a very giving person, always helping where needed. The intersection at Bassnettsville was dedicated for each season for all to enjoy by Don.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home – Curry Chapel, 100 Grant St., Fairview, Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, from 3-8 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. The family is requesting that masks be worn during all services.
