FAYETTEVILLE — The Groove the Gorge festival announced its lineup for 2021, featuring Grateful Jed and Three’s Company Blues.
The festival, which boasts its grassroots Grateful Dead family-style atmosphere and iconic location, is held at the Outpost at the New River Gorge, which is minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge.
This year’s festival is set for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-5. Barbecue and other smoked fare will be provided by Cast Iron Smokers and Bridge Brew Works will provide the locally brewed Belgian-style beer. Tickets are on sale through the festival website at https://theoutpostatthenewrivergorge.ticketspice.com/groove-in-the-gorge. Tickets cost $60, with upgrades available.
Under new ownership, the Outpost is the former River’s Rafting complex and campground. Tucked amid 70,000 acres of land along New River Gorge National Park, each overnight experience is near dining, shopping, miles of nature trails, guided activities and historical places. With a National Park Trailhead across the street, guests are welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes, climbing gear or kayaks to create their own adventures or go with one of the numerous outfitters in the area.
The Outpost at the New River Gorge offers a variety of lodging accommodations, including primitive tent camping, tent platforms, cabins, and small and large RV sites. All campers will have access to indoor restrooms, port-a-johns and water filling stations.
The Outpost at the New River Gorge is at 843 Fayette Station Road.
