Cynthia “Cyndi” Ellen Jones, 64, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 22, 1957, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Lowry Amos and Mildred “Midge” Courtney.
Cyndi graduated from Morgantown High School, Class of 1975. Following graduation, Cyndi attended West Virginia University until 1978, when she changed her focus to becoming a nurse. She received her LPN from Morgantown Technical School in 1978. Nursing became her lifetime career. During her time at WVU Cyndi would meet and marry her partner for life, John A. Jones (41 years).
She was a member of Kingdom EMC Church, Westover, and she loved dancing with the Diverse Steppers.
Cyndi is survived by husband, John A. Jones; her sons, Erik Allen Jones and Tyler David Jones; brother Larry Courtney, (sons, Sean Courtney and Nathan Courtney); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, parents and brother, Jeffrey Courtney.
Cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home Omega Crematorium.
Friends may call at Kingdom EMC Church from 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
