Richard Lewis Nester, 65, formerly of Kingwood and Preston County, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Martinsburg Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg.
The son of the late Ralph M. Nester and Betty Lou Taylor Nester, he was born Sept. 21, 1955, in Kingwood.
Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran, worked as a truck and auto mechanic and was an avid motorcycle rider.
He is survived by four sons: Chris Knotts, Corey Knotts, Jeremy Knotts and Anthony Nester; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda Nester and Sheila Livengood; and six brothers: Ralph Nester Jr., Stoney “Ronald” Nester, David Nester, Greg Nester, Michael Nester and Charles Nester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gail Nester.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, until the 11 a.m. service in the funeral home with the Rev. C. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Military graveside honors will be provided at the Sugar Valley Cemetery, by the Preston County Military Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
