Barbara Ann Eye, 82, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
Barb was born on Dec. 24, 1938, in Cassville, to the late Steven Slavensky and Margaret (Pompura) Slavensky. Barbara attended University High School and graduated in 1957.
On Oct. 7, 1961, she married Ronald Lee Eye in Morgantown. She built her life around her family, her friends and her faith in God and she served them all tirelessly and faithfully until her passing. In addition to raising her four children and showering love on her grandchildren, Barb enjoyed gardening and decorating and was an avid reader. Barbara was a member of St. Ursula’s Catholic Church until its closing, and she served the parish with her father, Steve, through caring for the church and decorating for holidays and special occasions. Most recently, she was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Barb is survived by her three children, Stephanie Stevens and husband Rick, of Cumming, Ga., Alyssa Wilson, of Morgantown, and son, Lee and wife Stacy, of Morgantown. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Briana, Hannah and Tara Stevens, Grant and Reynolds Wilson and Saylor Ace Eye; her sisters, Sandy Panrell and Joyce Kilionski; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Lee Eye, and her sister, Mary Margaret Perroots.
At the request of the family, there will be no funeral home visitation. Friends may join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, at 1 p.m., Friday, July 30, with the Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE, as celebrant. Following the funeral Mass, Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barb’s honor to St. Francis Central Catholic School, where she educated her four children, 41 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV, 26508, or St. Ursula Food Pantry and Outreach, where her family volunteered, P.O. Box 18, Pursglove, WV 26546.
