Jane “June” Lesniak Piktel, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Thompsonville, Conn., a daughter of the late Rudolph Lesniak and Helen Bezak Lesniak.
June loved traveling, reading, knitting and sewing. She traveled to many different parts of the world with her husband, cousins, Aunt Ann and friends, enjoying every minute. She worked on her family tree and arranged a family reunion that resulted in over 100 family members attending and enjoying time with each other.
She was a hairdresser who owned and operated her own beauty salon.
June is survived by one daughter, DonnaMarie (John) Bozeman, of Summerville, S.C.; one son, David (Debra) Piktel, of Morgantown; and her grandchildren, whom she loved and enjoyed being with, especially to play cribbage, Matthew Bozeman, of South Carolina, and Marie Bozeman of Colorado, Courtney Piktel, of Texas and Tyler Piktel, of West Virginia. She is also survived by her cousin, Paul Motyka, of Acton, Mass., and her nieces.
June was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Stanley Piktel; three brothers, Leopold, Conrad and Wilfred; niece, Kathleen Kowolenko; and nephew, Conrad Lesniak Jr.
