Phyllis Ann Liston, 84, of Kingwood, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born in Kingwood, on March 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Gordon Wayne Wable and Josie Lucille (White) Wable.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended the Pleasantdale United Methodist Church her whole life and served as Sunday school superintendent for years and treasurer for 68 years. She belonged to the Albright Church Christian Women’s group. She did baby sitting in her home for over 30 years and was an avid Mountaineer, Pirates and Steelers fan. She loved crocheting and playing cards. Chuck and Phyllis were well known “ICONS” for attending the youth sporting events for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles “Chuck” H. Liston; one daughter, Debra Benson, of Kingwood; three sons, Samuel Liston and wife Candace, of Morgantown, Randall Liston and wife Sharon, of Kingwood, and Ricky Liston and wife Lisa, of Kingwood; one sister, Clara Wheeler, of Kingwood; one brother, Larry Wable, of Rivesville; 11 grandchildren, Brooks (Cyndi) Liston, Mitchell Liston, Courtney (Scott) Kirby, James Benson, Myles Liston, Deidre (Eric) Aebi, Daniel (Kim) Liston, Matt (Sarah) Liston, Katelyn (Jeremy) Preston, Devon (Bryan) Layfield and Derica Liston; and 17 great-grandchildren, Abby, Lacey, Beau, Ava, Ella, Kendall, Caroline, Parker, Natalie, Carson, Hannah, Alex, Desiree, Finnlee, Liam, Mia and Amelia; and a great-great-grandchild, Tye.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, James and Alverta Liston; a son-in-law, Clayton Benson; infant brother-in-law, Samuel; five brothers-in-law, Bill Wheeler, Glenn Liston, Howard Liston, Russell Liston and the Rev. Gerald Cale; five sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wable, Shirley Liston, Ann Liston, Mary Cale and Geraldine Liston; a great-granddaughter, Alivia Jean Liston; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 2, and from noon, Saturday, July 3, until the 1 p.m. service time, with the Rev. Lucinda Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
