You get to be you every day

It happens, we as humans a lot of the time get wrapped up in so many negatives. Any problem or obstacle that comes our way makes our vision blurred when looking at the bigger picture. Oh how sweet it is to be alive and to have your health.

Our society likes to get wrapped around the notion that we are all struggling and somehow your problems are worse than the others. But what if we changed our perspective? What if people woke up every morning and rejoiced in that simple fact?

You wake up, you get to choose every day what you make of it. My father loves to give me life lessons every day. In fact, every time I see him he’s teaching me something new. Something that has always resonated with me is, “It’s your word Babyelle, do what you want.” Though it may sound absurd, and maybe even a touch narcissistic, there is truth hidden in his advise.

The billions of people on this earth are the main characters in their own stories. Why not act like the main character in your own?

Many studies suggest that we are more likely to remember negative experiences over positive experiences. And, according to Laura Carstensen, a psychology professor at Stanford University, in general, we tend to notice the negative more than the positive.

I think this is an important fact to really think about. Are our situations making us miserable, or is it the way  our brains are wired?

Positive thinking would be hard on anyone who didn’t practice it, and even harder on those who are never positive when it comes to themselves.

Practicing positive thinking is just as important as training for a race or working on getting up earlier for work. I love practicing positive thinking and positive influence. It has helped me overcome adversity in more ways than one.

I try to wake up every morning and think of three reasons why I’m happy I woke up, even if it’s as small as my morning green tea.

Every day you get to be you, nobody else will ever fill those shoes. What are you going to do today that will make you happy? What are you going to do today to possibly make someone else happy?

I believe positive thinking and working on being a positive influence are more powerful than anything. Who’s going to stop you from being happy when you work on making yourself happy and a better person everyday? No one can dim the light that shines within you, as soon as you see it and believe it, that confidence will radiate to the next, and the next, and maybe one day, the world.
