Matthew Thomas Howell, 63, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, in Morgantown. He was born July 8, 1957, in Wheeling, a son of the late James Matthew Howell Sr. and the late Florence M. Sinn Howell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jeanne Allison Wilshire Howell.
Matt was a graduate of WVU, where he received his bachelor degree in electrical engineering. He was a founding partner of FCX Systems Inc., which operated for over 34 years. Matt was an avid West Virginia University sports fan for most of his life.
In addition to his loving wife, Matt is survived by his daughter, Holly Ann Howell, of Morgantown; his sisters, Sandy and her husband Bud Hanlin, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Cindy and her husband Darrell Ickler, of Wheeling, and Kathy and her husband Jimmy Stahl, of Wheeling; as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Matt was preceded in death by his brother, James Matthew Howell Jr. and his nephew, Scott Hanlin.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. Visitation services will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 18, and from noon-1 p.m. Saturday, June 19. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home, at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 19, with the Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum in Fairmont.
