Senior Monongalians will re-open to visitors at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The center, in Mountaineer Mall, has been closed to seniors and guests for the past 14 months throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Center capacity and activities will be limited but are anticipated to increase over the next few weeks.
All staff and visitors must wear a mask until June 20, regardless of vaccination status. After that date, staff and visitors may make their own decisions on wearing a mask while in the center.
A special “Welcome Back” drive-through celebration will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday.
Seniors age 60 and up can drive through to pick up a goody bag with re-opening information, vaccination information and an assortment of other items donated by local businesses.
In addition, a catered to-go lunch will be available curbside, consisting of BBQ chicken, roasted potatoes, baked beans, a roll, fruit, milk and a brownie. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited quantities of each. Reservations are accepted by telephone through 4 p.m. Monday.
