Naomi Jean Shahan, 91, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at her home.
Naomi was born June 4, 1929, in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late Edward and Daisy (Riley) Wiles.
She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and Methodist by faith. Naomi owned and operated Shahan Grocery with her husband for over 30 years. She was a member of the Colonel Rowan Post 2345 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John E. Shahan Sr.; one son, Danny Shahan, of Tunnelton; one daughter and spouse, Judy and Fred Judy, of Dundee, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Crystal Shahan, of Salem; one brother and spouse, Jerry and Betty Wiles, of Amherst, Ohio; one sister, Rosemarie Eckenrode, of Warren, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jason Baylor and Brian Shahan; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Baylor, Shalyn Baylor, Sarah Baylor, Brian Shahan and Olivia Williamson; two great-great-grandchildren, Raven and Willow Williamson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John E. Shahan Jr.; five brothers, Darrell Riley, Kenneth Wiles, Joe Wiles, Jimmy Wiles and Larry Wiles Sr.; and three sisters, Elaine Martin, Louise Gordon and Betty Wiles.
Friends and family will be received at Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from
4-8 p.m. Friday, June 4, and from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, to the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Biggins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount View Cemetery, Tunnelton.
