Robert Sollars

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, Robert E. “Bob” Sollars Jr., 55, loving husband and beloved friend of many, passed away at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Bob crossed the path of countless individuals during his careers over the years, rarely knew a stranger and was most noted for his Star City Hot Dogs, which he loved serving up to all. He married his true love, Karen Pickenpaugh, in February 1999.

Bob loved going with Karen to their camp in Bergoo. He loved spending time riding, whether on a side by side, an ATV or a Harley. Karen and their fur family were his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Karen Sollars; his fur babies, Maggie Mae, Persayis and Squatch; brother, Joe Sollars; niece, Joleigh, and nephew, Noah, of Daybrook; brother, Kenneth Sollars and his wife Stacy and nephews, Mathew and Aaron, of Fairmont; brother, Jimmy Sollars and wife Julie and nephews, Justin and Aiden, of Fairmont; and Cassie and Joey Terlosky and daughter Lily, of Daybrook. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sollars Sr., of Fairmont; and his mother, Gwendolyn Sollars, of Daybrook; and sister-in-law, Lisa Sollars, of Daybrook.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. The family would like to thank the staff at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital MICU for their wonderful and loving care and Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown for all their help and kindness during this trying time.
