Norma Jean Sine Kennedy, 83, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Norma was born in Fairview on June 4, 1937, to the late Jacob Sine and Myrtle Belle Sine.
Norma worked at G.W. Phillips Elementary School as an assistant cook and later worked at Sundale Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care for 12 years as an aid. She was an avid fan of Marty Stuart and Chris Noth and enjoyed watching wrestling, NASCAR and was a Mountaineer enthusiast.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kennedy; grandson, Brandon Kennedy; and god daughter, Amber Kent.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Lee Kennedy; sisters, Georgia Tennant, Betty Spiker, Lucy Hagedorn Lewis and Mary Sine; and brothers, Ralph Sine, Fred Sine, James Sine, Floyd Sine and Lonnie Sine.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Norma’s doctors at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital: Dr. Dhar, Dr. Raina, Dr. Kline, Dr. Rickard and Dr. Parravani. Also, a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Norma’s caregivers, Don Hagedorn and Sharon Burns, for the care and compassion shown to Norma and her family in their time of need.
Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, and again from 10 a.m. Wednesday, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Isaac Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be observed, masks should be worn and time in the funeral home should be limited to 15 minutes.
