For over 30 years, Crescent Frame Shoppe has provided custom framing services for the Morgantown community.
Mike Quick and his wife, Gretchen Quick, have owned the shop for over two years.
Crescent Frame Shoppe provides a number of services ranging from creating custom frames, canvas stretching, shadow boxes, matte cutting, frame repair, and much more.
“Anything that you want in a frame, we can do it,” explained Mike Quick.
The Quicks said they are dedicated to helping customers find the perfect molding to complement items, while staying within a person’s budget.
All orders are made by hand and in-shop. Quick said he does his best to keep up with the latest and greatest materials.
“The majority of our materials come in weekly from International Molding, out of Huntington,” Quick said.
Quick said it’s a constant learning experience to make sure the framework is up-to-date.
Quick is from Lewisburg, but moved to Morgantown in 2010. He’s worked at Bill’s Bail Bond, which sits next door to Crescent Frame Shoppe, since 2008. He and his wife later took over Crescent Frame Shoppe after the building’s landlord needed someone to fill the space. Quick said he shadowed the previous owner of the shop for several months to learn more about the business and framework before taking over. “It was a perfect opportunity for us to become business owners,” Quick said.
“I’ve always been handy with woodworking and building things,” he said. “So that came naturally.”
Crescent Frame Shoppe also sells art and photographs made by local artists.
Every month the shop participates in Downtown Morgantown’s Arts Walk. The next Arts Walk is set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 12.
“It’s nice to see a lot of people come in and look around and support local artists,” Quick said.
Crescent Frame Shoppe is located at 116 High St. in Morgantown. The shop’s hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.
