Kenneth Queen

Kenneth Eugene Queen, of Bruceton Mills, died May 24, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Clarksburg, July 11, 1944, a son of the late Denver C. Queen and Mildred (McCue) Queen Harmon.

Surviving is his wife, Sandra J. (Knapp) Queen, of Bruceton Mills; one son, Kenneth E. “Beau” Queen II, of Pasadena, Md.; one daughter and her husband, Melissa A. (Queen) and J. Colby Smith, of Gore, Va.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Samantha M. (Smith) and Conor L. Dancy, of Leesburg, Va., and Savanna R. (Smith) and Andrew J. O’Brien, of Pensacola, Fla.; one great-grandson, Colby E. O’Brien, of Pensacola, Fla.; one uncle, Paul F. McCue, of Clarksburg; and cousins, Randy McCue and Lee Queen.

Mr. Queen was a 1962 graduate of Victory High School. He retired in 2006 after a 35-year career as a purchasing agent for Kiddie, Anne Arundel County and Garrett County. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Moose Lodge, Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council, National Association of Purchasing Management, American Radio Relay League (AARL) and the State of West Virginia Mon County Amateur Radio Club. Ken enjoyed photography, ham radio (was an authorized examiner, won several awards including the Pennsylvania Clean Sweep Award 2003, ARRL DX Century February 2012, ARRL DX Contest 2012 and 2014), and computers.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rick Owens presiding. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
