Marvin Gump

Marvin Leroy Gump, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 9, 2021. He was born on June 29, 1941, to the late Stella “Gertie” Price.

Marvin was the owner of Marvin’s Auto. He enjoyed working on and painting vehicles. He knew the model and make of every vehicle. Even after he retired from his business, you could find him tinkering with his cars and recyclable items or he’d be fishing for walleye at the Opikeska Lock and Dam.

Marvin will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Thanks to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we know Marvin now spends eternity in heaven. He accepted Jesus into his life on May 23, 2010. We, the family, would encourage you all to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so that you will be able to spend eternity with Marvin and praise our Heavenly Father together.

Marvin is survived by two children: daughter Cynthia Cole and husband Todd, and a son, Mark Gump and wife Julie; four grandchildren, Evan Cole, Chasity Goodwin and husband Michael, Bailey Cole and boyfriend Cody and Hunter Gump and fiancé Mazee; two great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Brantley and Brynlee Goodwin; and two brothers, Howard “Teeter” Gump and Walter Gump. Also, his ex-wife, Linda Thomas, who still held a piece of his heart.

Marvin was preceded in death by his mother; two brothers, Frankie
and Charles “Punkin” Gump; and one sister, Ann Lemley.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the prayer warriors who have prayed for Marvin and his family during these last two years: You are most appreciated.
