The Morgantown girls’ tennis won three matches by 4-3 scores at the Eastern Panhandle Mixer this weekend, despite playing without their top three players, forcing a forfeit in one doubles match every match.
MHS was able to beat Washington, Jefferson and Woodrow Wilson, while its tie was to Washington.
The Mohigans only took five players, including two JV girls, Ruby Van Eeden and Gabrielle Selders, who acquitted themselves well playing varsity for the first time.
Three other matches were rained out and one ended in a 3-3 tie due to rainy conditions.
MHS (9-0) will play regional rival Bridgeport on Monday at home.
