Mrs. Mary Ann (Netro) Davies, 85, passed away Tuesday, afternoon May 4, 2021, at her residence.
She was born in Pursglove, on May 19, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Mildred Fredrickia (Nett) Netro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald Charles Davies, on Feb. 21, 2019; and two brothers, Bernard Netro and John Netro Jr.
Mary Ann is survived by her five children, Michael Allen Davies, Paul F. Davies, Diana M. Moore and Theresa A. Cale, all of Morgantown, and Annie L. Davies, of Rio Rancho, N.M.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Rish, of Anderson, Ind.
Mary Ann enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and working on flower arrangements. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States and Canada, and she also traveled abroad to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Along with her husband, she owned Homewood Crafts. She was an avid reader and also liked to go fishing and camping.
Friends may join the family to honor Mary Ann’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 3-8 p.m., Monday, May 10, and again, from 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, until the time of the Catholic Funeral Rites at 11 a.m. with Father Walter Jagela officiating. Following the funeral service, Mary Ann will be laid to rest with her husband at the Eden Church Cemetery.
Mary Ann loved flowers, and flowers will certainly be accepted at the funeral home. But, if you choose to, a contribution in her memory would be appreciated to the American Heart Association, 162 Court St., Charleston, WV, 25301.
