A total of 30 students were sent home from Mountainvew Elementary School after two classmates tested positive for COVID, the district announced.
Those students will quarantine for 14 days, as per county health mandates.
Mon Schools Superintendent Eddie Campbell Jr. said the two cases aren’t related and won’t be considered an outbreak.
Another 21 students at Brookhaven Elementary are isolating after the positive diagnosis of a classmate, he said.
A student at South Middle presented with a positive diagnosis earlier this week, but it wasn’t immediately known if any other students or staffers were impacted.
