Robert Lyle Chisler Sr., 74, is celebrating his heavenly reunion with his Savior on May 2, 2021. He was a God-fearing man, son, brother, husband, father, Pappy and friend to all that knew him. He regularly attended Bula Baptist Church. As a young man, Rob served his country in the United States Army.
Rob was the son of the late Tracy Chisler and Essie Brewer Chisler, of Daybrook. He was the fourth of their five children. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jo Ann Tennant and her husband Lawrence; and one brother, Jerry Chisler. Surviving are Larry Chisler and his wife Sandy, Roddy “Dean” Chisler and his wife Carolyn and a sister-in-law, Peg Chisler.
He shared a blessed life in their marriage of 51 years to the late Patricia “Patty” Chisler. Rob and Patty raised four children together, Regina Chisler, of Morgantown, Teresa Chisler, of Cassville, Robert Chisler Jr. and spouse Lori, of Wadestown, and William Chisler and spouse Samantha, of Wadestown. He was a very dedicated family-man. He worked hard for 38 years on the railroad to provide for his cherished family. His yard and garden were always a point of pride for him. When he was not working, he made time to go to his children’s many sporting events, dance recitals and then the same for his grandchildren. He enjoyed his 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
When Rob did take time from work, he enjoyed fishing, riding the country hills on his side-by-side and bird watching. His sense of humor, loving smile and big laugh will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 5. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Drew Reveal officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery.
